What Is Main Stream?

The important answer is not the cleverest answer. It is the answer that other people also wrote, or one close enough for the Gamemaster to put into the same cluster.

How Main Stream Works

  1. Start a Beanbag room and select Main Stream.
  2. Everyone sees the same prompt and answers privately.
  3. When all answers are in, the Gamemaster groups matching or equivalent answers.
  4. Players score for being in a cluster, and bigger clusters give more points to each player in them.
  5. After the configured number of rounds, the highest total score wins.

Why It Works for Parties

Room-reading strategy

The game rewards predicting friends, not memorizing trivia.

Quick prompts

Short questions make it easy to keep a party moving.

Funny disagreements

The reveal often shows exactly where the group split.

Different twist Main Stream includes a Gamemaster clustering step, so equivalent answers can score together.
Why play it here It works well for remote groups who want a majority-answer party game without physical cards.

Main Stream FAQ

Is Main Stream a trivia game?

Not exactly. There are prompts, but the goal is to match the group rather than know a fact.

What group size is best?

Main Stream supports 3 to 12 players. It gets better when enough people are present for answer clusters to form.

Can new players join quickly?

Yes. Beanbag rooms are designed around browser join codes and short setup.

Is Main Stream like Herd Mentality?

Main Stream is an original Beanbag majority-answer game for players looking for a Herd Mentality-style online party game, but it is not affiliated with Herd Mentality.
